So I got the windows on my stang tinted the other day and when I picked up the car I noticed that the door wouldn't close properly. The top of the window hits the convertible top and doesn't seal correctly. I am 100% sure the car wasn't like this when I took it in but I don't think applying tint would cause such a problem, obviously. I know they dropped the top and put it back up all while the windows were up, which you aren't supposed to do. Other than that, maybe they pulled the window back away from the interior panel to install the tint, maybe that threw it out of alignment? If I push against the window while closing the door, it will seal correctly but otherwise there is a gap. I'd like to get some opinions from you guys before I go in there to bitch about it, has anyone ever had anything like this happen before? I am a perfectionist when it comes to my car and this really pisses me off!

whenever a kid backed into the stang while it was parked, i had to get a new door at a body shop. when i got it back, the same thing kind of happened to me, but not as bad. what i normally do is hold the top up with my thumb just behind the window so i can shut the door without it rubbing against the window. but i have forgotton to do that a few times and the top has started to rip just a tiny bit where the window rubs against the top. so if you can, just get it fixed asap to avoid this problem.

Take the door panel off like they did. Adjust the window back to where it should be. Even better take it back and make them do it. A good tint shop may remove the door panel and even the window glass to tint it. They did not put it back together properly. You do not want to find out how much convertible top repairs cost my friend... Get this correct immediately.

BTW, when you slam the door with the WINDOW DOWN do you hear the glass rattling around in there now?

Good luck... the tint shop ****ed it up but I doubt they will want to fix it. If not, take it to Ford and send the bill to the tint shop. Next step, civil court...

Well, its an easy fix two felt covered metal dogs press against the inside of the glass and are easily adjustable with a bolt once the door panel is removed. Its cake really... The hardest part is getting the door panel back on properly, it might take a couple tries.

I did mine on my 96 vert about 2 years ago. Zero noise with the top up. Mine wasn't as bad as yours, but you actually had to lower the window a little bit to make it tolerable. Now nothing.
Took like an hour counting road tests.
