I've heard some complaints about fitment with these guage pods/trim. How bad is it? I need a nice clean way to mount a couple of guages and don't have a center console.

Here's what I'm looking at:

if somebody made a better fitting piece, thay could make some $$$$

for mine, the guages are too deep and push the moulding away from the pilar and leave a gap on the windshield side, also the gauges face the passenger more then the driver

I ordered a set just like your looking at

and sent them back the same day i got em, they SUCKED. There is no way I would have mounted those things, they were too wide and didnt even fit right. I just mounted some autometers right below the ignition switch.

I like the custom ones mounted in the middle of the dash.

I'm going to "play nice" and not give an opinion on pillar mounted gauges but will give a thumbs up to dash mounts.

I concur with the gap at the windshield, Not too bad on my '65 (1/8"). I don't feel that the sight line is too bad. Here's a pic:

Why not get the gauge cups and screw them on to the existing pillar? Its not like the pillars are contoured heavily like the new cars.

BINGO!!! Give the man a Cigar. Although I had another word in mind to exchange with imports, something to do with a common food in many parts of the world.

I have to admit... I kinda agree.

So if you needed to mount 2 additional guages (AFR and Boost) and didn't have a center console, where and how would you mount them?

I used to mount the extra gauges in the center, under the dash. Or fab a console for them. I did that on my Ranger.

I agree to a point. If it's functional like this, I don't mind. It does get dangerous to look around that far when going that fast.
