anybody know where i can get a new weather strip for my sunroof? I can't find them at any parts place and the glass shops in my area say they can't get it. my sunroof has started leaking... at least i think it's the sunroof the water is coming in the trim above the doors and windshield, which is downslope from the sunroof, but it could just as easily be the windshield, either way the sunroof seal has major cracks in it and needs to be replaced. also how hard is it to re-caulk the windshield, i know it doesn't use a weather strip but i can't seem to get the metal molding off. is there some trick to getting it that i don't know? any and all help is appreciated.
thanks,
Blake

The metal trim is held on with clips. Just pull it straight down or use a flat screwdriver to gently pry it down a bit - then you can get it right under the clips and pop them off - there are three (left, center, right). I don't know if re-caulking the window will work if it is leaking - kinda like your shower - you either need to scrape all the old caulk out with a razor or actually pull the window and re-install with new sealant and everything. I would start with the sunroof - check foxmustangrestoration or 50resto. Keep in mind there are three seals on your sunroof - there is one on the glass, one that goes around the edge of the glass that seals it to the roof when it is inplace, and the third is around the inside lip of the sunroof opening. Check all three and good luck!!

when i said re-caulk the window that's what i meant, but i'll start with the sunroof. also the water is not actually coming in at the sunroof it's coming through the trim above the doors and windshield so i want to cover all possibilities
