Window tint law that will take effect in Texas Sept. 1:

SB 589 requires that a vehicle equipment safety compliance label be placed on a windshield, side or rear window stating that the window tinting complies with the appropriate provisions of the Transportation Code. Failing to place the required label on the vehicle could lead to a $1,000 fine.

Thats funny. But yet the accidents pile up day after day here in texas due to people yapping on their cell phones and not paying attention to their driving, but yet they're going after TINT!! Unbelievable.

Yea yea, but the cops dont ever do anything about it. I have 3% tint.

Well wouldnt that be the safety inspection sticker? I just had mine saftied a week ago and they did their little tint test as well as everything else and slapped the sticker on. Seems that since its a safety requirement already and is tested for already to be able to get a safety sticker then whats the issue. Are we now supposed to pay for yet another sticker?

I would rather get a ticket than put a sticker on my car.
