Windows stop working on my 95

One day my power windows, power locks and power mirrors stopped working on my 95 vert. All the fuses and circuit breakers are good. I took the door panel off, and when I ground everything, the work. So there is power going to everything but they wont work unless I manually ground them. Is there maybe a common module under the dash that they all plug into, or is there something else I am missing. I am lost, and getting frustrated. Thanks.

What do you mean "when you ground everything?"

Some of the items use a floating ground, not a dedicated hard ground. There is a black ground wire egressing the lock switch.

I had my window and door switches start to go bad. Some were working when they wanted, others just stopped all together. If the fuses are good, i'd look at the switches before getting even deeper. Find a junk yard that has 94-04 mustangs...they should let u grab them for free.

I connected a wire from a bolt on the door and touched the other end to under the window switch. The windows would work then. The same with the locks. Once I touched the wire to the connectors under the switches, the locks would work. I already replaced the switches. It didn't help.
