Hello I need to replace the weatherstrip that runs along the edge of the windshield molding on my 93 LX covertable. Its about 1/4 in wide and run the up the sides and across the top of the windshield. I have only been able to find any info. about it on one site and is sold in two pieces, LH,RH .

Just wanted to ask if this is what I want and if there is any other place i can get it just so I can compare prices and such. Thanks

This is a great forum!

I would have tried www.texasmustang.com and www.californiamustang.com as well.

I like 50resto (LMR) and have gotten a lot of things from them. They ship fast and generally have good products.
HOWEVER, I did get their SUNROOF weatherstrip kit (glass to body and body to glass) and body to glass (the one that mounts on the car and seals up to the glass when the sunroof is shut) has a gap about an inch where the weatherstripping isn't long enough to make it all of the way around. I didn't call or send it back because I got it on sale at a good price and I just figured I'll reuse my old one since it wasn't bad to begin with. I mainly wanted the glass to body one (the one that goes on the outside of the sunroof), but since the "kit" was only a couple bucks more, I just got the "kit" w/ both.

I know this is about a convertible car, so that doesn't matter, but my point is that not all of their parts are 100%, but OVERALL I'VE HAD EXCELLENT DEALINGS WITH 50RESTO..

Sorry i took me so long to reply with my experience with the windshield weather strip. It worked out pretty well. The parts were great and fit fine. I decided not to remove the windshield molding and just run a small bead of silicone along the edge of the moldings. Then I used a thin but hard plastic putty knife to push it into place. Its two pieces so I set one in place and let the glue dry before doing the other side to make sure there was no shrinkage. There is extra length in it you will have to cut. So after I set the second piece in place, I let that glue dry before making my cut, again to make sure the 2 pieces would butt to each other.
Ideally, you should remove the moldings to make the best fit. But I decided that the time that would take verse the cost of having to buy these parts again if I had to remove the windshield was worth doing it my way.
