Windshield wipers stuck on high, is this the right box?

i read about the wipers sticking on high. most searches were for 90-93 i saw.

i have an 89, i was looking for the windshield wiper interval box or whatever its called. it was supposively olive green and near the column. i had this piece come apart thats in that general area/general shape.

its black with a brown connector on it. did i pull apart the wrong thing now? its hanging on an L bracket in line with the clutch pedal, just beyond the fuse box in depth.

i found pics on ebay for 90+ windshield wiper interval governor and for an 87-88 model year..

are these 87-93 compatible if i find one on my car/find one at junkyard?

ok. i ended up finding the box and it was unplugged.

i returned the windshield wiper motor i bought, and upon driving there... realized my blinkers dont work now. fuse is good, gotta take apart the column trim again and check it out.
