so well i know its everywhere but us M/W really know how to store our vehicles, b/c we do it every year.

what are things you found that worked well, and what have you done that was just plain stupid.

I do the following

1. battery tender
2. full tank of gas
3. leave it sit starting untill i drive it under load(normal driving conditions)
4. look @ it every night b4 bed and dream of me bustin through the gears racing a hot chick in a ferrari..

i think this year when i start it im gonna take the spark off so the oil gets pumped through the engine Good idea????????

I've never been fortunate enough to store a car--I've always had to drive them.

But, I use a fuel stabilizer on all my small engines (2 mowers, weed eater, chainsaw) even during normal months, because use is so sporadic. I noticed a definite difference in how easy they were to start and how well they all ran after a long slumber.

So, I don't think it's a bad idea at all to throw some in the tank if you aren't going to be driving it, and if you do, it's a cleaning agent that won't hurt anyway and prevents moisture/condensation build-up.

I used Stabil on my Stang last year. I didn't start my car from Nov-Apr and when I connected the battery, she started on the first crank and ran like a champ. It was like she had been running everyday.

But, sixers can be easier to drive in the snow because of less HP/Torque.

Back to the topic (other side of the coin)....

For those of you that have to drive your Stang in the winter, what methods do you use to clean it? IE, remove salt? Touch up or prevent rock chips from sand?

For those of us without a garage, is there any place to securely and cheaply store our stangs?

Word. There are climate controlled storage spaces you can rent.

Also, you might ask family, friends, or neighbors if you can stable the pony, for a price, if required.
