Winter Mods...

Hey Gang:

Here is what I have planned:

1) 408 stroker motor.
2) 8 point roll bar.

Of course, everything has to look show quality...
Check out the sig. if there is any of my go-fast parts you might want...

What do you all have planned for the rainy season???

Nope,... Got 2 sitting in the garage,... but might not be legal for the DR class in HeadsUp next year. Might put them on anyway....

I am painting. I may build a higher compression 351, or a stroker (like yours). I may convert to carburation. I have yet to reach a decision on anything but painting, which I am in the midst of completing. I've even thought about upping the performance of my '85 351 powered F150. It's hard for me to mod the '87 as it runs so well already.

Are you kidding? If my '89 looked even remotely as good as your car, I wouldn't touch the paint. Mine will never be a show car, I just want to not be embarrassed by its appearance.

He and I are both doing major overhauls this winter... His car is sitting in my garage right now with the engine out... He is putting in a different engine (to be determined) and an HP Turbo kit... He is also having it painted... I agree that it always looked great, but you have to realize that he waxed that thing weekly to keep it looking good... The paint is definately thin -- and he is a perfectionist so it is getting some new skin... He is also replacing his quarter windows... His fenders and hood are for sale if anyone needs some... He is going with an aftermarket hood and 91 fenders so that he can fit slightly wider tires under the front...

I plan on buying some boots so I can walk to work That count as a mod? hehehe driving the stank up a big ass hill to get to work and back down the other side jsut doesnt seem like a good idea in the snow Wish I had the money to mod the car. lol anything, hell money for a new air freshener would be nice at this point.

With the engine out for now until I've completed the engine bay

Here's my list for the Cobra II:

- put the 347 in
- install fuel cell
- install limited slip rear
- relocate battery
- subframes
- new seats
- put the cowl on
- remove back seat and smooth that out

Here's the list for the new 77 ghia:

- Wheels
- stereo
- paint
- exhaust

Garage Mods
- Install Air compressor & system
- make room for lift that is in the box covered by a tarp (this one I am most excited about)

Thats a lot fo work and I will probably get most of it somehow before I leave for bootcamp

The local junkyard burnt down and my neighbor bought their lift for like $400 and my dad got really pissed and went out and bought this one. I still need a taller garage though.

I'm also thinking about a 6 or an 8 point roll cage to help stiffen the very not stiff II, but we'll see what I have time for.

Turbo Baby!!!

Like N20Jnky said, I am using half of his garage to really go nuts this winter. The cool side of my 66mm compressor showed up yesterday, and man does it look good! Had it polished like a mirror. The hot side is getting shiney jet hot coated. N2OJnky and I will both be able to lay down 550+ rwhp this year. More is possible, just depends if he feels the need to pop in the big pills and if I am brave enough to twist the knob more. We are also cleaning up the engine bays and getting rid of those gawd awful wiring harnesses. Both cars should finally demand a hint of respect!

Are all of you familiar with the NASA or American Iron series of cars they road race? I am really going after that look this year with kick ass hood, bigger and wider wheels, the cool rear deck wing (adjustable of course), and some small skirts to keep the air from under neath. Here is my problem. Does a wild looking LX like that need a 2-3 tone paint job, or will a bright single color pull it off? Just cannot make up my mind on how I need this thing painted to totally grab you, but not get gawdy.

Monotone won't get it done, especially on a fox body. You can get creative and still be tasteful
