The other guy was right, it's the IAC valve and I polished it.

You can powdercoat them. The two parts are just held together with two little Phillips-head screws. Just cover the openings and coat it. I've seen lots of people who have done that or painted them.

The cap comes off but there's a plastic piece underneath it. I never removed one or saw it done so I don't think you can do much else. FWIW everyone I've seen who's painted/coated theirs left it in

Cleaned the wiper motor and painted it...then installed a aftermarket chrome cover availble from 50resto....as you can see the motor is 'kept' incase it's needed but does not draw attention to itself while still fitting in with the 'theme' of the bay.

Too late...see tech..THANKS DUDE you just saved me HUGE, I had just replaced the IAC MAF BAP ACT ECU trying to figure out why it wouldn't start....do you think gears would help? What kind of gears? or maybe a CAI?the CAI might help with the ECU cause my mechanic said the ECU was dead and he had one there for ony 500 bucks..is that worth it?

Sorry all done
