Use the correct material for your year. Neither is "better", but the leather seal is much thicker, and would alter the installed height of the wiper arm pivot.
Many thanks , A lot of these mustang parts places list the rubber as 64 through 67. The vendor I was dealing with said they don't make the leather seal anymore and that the rubber was a better seal. I knew I had seen the leather seal on other websites. Thanks again.
