Wiring Harness

I need to buy a new wiring harness for my 67 mustang. Of course, these have reached a ridiculous price and for wiring the entire car, I will easily spend over $1000. I feel like this is rediculous. It is just wire!! Anyway, does anyone know of where I can purchase this cheaper, or if it can be made? I would love the information to make a wiring harness if possible. I work with wires occasionally now and wouldn't be totally uncomfortable doing so. Any feedback here would be great. Thanks.

I bought a 'complete' harness from Florida Mustang for about $750 (inclusing shipping to the UK, I think). I'm halfway through installing it so I can't really say if it's solved all my wiring problems or not, but with all the proper terminations on the ends it makes for a straightforward solution.

George (65fsbkhipo on Stangnet) is a good chap and will be happy to talk you through what you need.

That's the Painless universal harness. I've got one of the new ones specifically for '67-'68 on the way right now -- it'll be here Monday or Tuesday and I'll post about it when I put it in.

Harness

The harness from painless appears to be complete according to their description. Meaning, not just the under dash part, but the wiring to the headlamps, taillights, etc. If anyone has any experience with this, let me know if this is accurate. Thanks.

I don't think you'll find anyone with experience...contrary to what all the ads have implied for the last several months, it just became available within the last couple of weeks.

I too went with the universal painless kit. Took we a week. It was hard. I paid $200 for the 12 circuit kit. The 65-66 kit is $600. Next time....I'll pay the extra cash for the time saved. I'm telling you, if you don't have the money, wait til you do. I didn't know how to read a wiring diagram when I started. I learned fast. Cross referenced between the painless instructions and the 66 Stang diagrams. The full Stang kit is worth it. I figure most people will get part way through the universal kit and give up.
