This may be a dumb question, but to get it to run at 2000 rpm's do you sit there and hold it or do you adjust the TB or something?

Either way works. Easy way is to put something inbetween the throttle body arm and the stop. Hard part is getting the right sized "something".

I sometimes use my "club" to keep a pedal depressed. Strange, eh????

I used a stand. blade screwdriver, that had a small blade and a long shaft. I wedged it in the t-body stop and throt. cam (were the cable attaches and pulls). I just got it in there until it was as close to 2,000 on the autometer tach.
