When I recently disassembled my 5.0/AOD combo, I noticed these witness marks on the torque converter:
I measured the thickness of the fly wheel bolt and they were .315”. This is a stock, flywheel and torque converter. Does anybody know what the stock flywheel bolt thickness should be on the 5.0?
Try as I may, I cannot locate the stock bolt thickness dimensions for the flex plate to crank bolts. I noticed Autozone sells a complete set with crush washers. I think I may go that route if I can’t determine if the ones I have are the stock thickness.
.315" seems thick to me, but don't know actually. A standard 7/16-20 hex head bolt is listed as having a head thickness of .281", so maybe that's your issue. And I don't think there are supposed to be crush washers used.... at least I've never noticed them being part of a flexplate bolt kit.
