wobbly harmonic balancer-video!

Even if its only a slight issue now, better to take care of it before it becomes a big issue unexpectedly. Ive seen them seperate and cause carnage, not to mention leaving you stranded. No sesne putting undo stress on the engine bearings, etc.

rockauto.com sells them for like $40 as opposed to ford for like 200. . . whats a sfi unit? Im new to the stang scene tryin to learn . . . thanks

A $40 balancer wouldn't cut it.

What Do the Letters "SFI" Stand For?

SFI was originally a foundation run by SEMA, the automotive aftermarket trade organization. The letters "SFI" stood for "SEMA Foundation, Inc." Although SFI is now completely independent from SEMA, the Foundation has retained the name SFI Foundation, Inc. but the "S" no longer means SEMA.

so looking at that, the angle might not be as good as i originally thought, but its kinda wobbly, can anyone tell me if this is something to be concerned about?

You definitely need to replace that balancer as of yesterday as Redline_351R said. Not only is it wobbly but I can see a small piece of rubber sticking out from the back. If the outer ring decides to separate completely, and it can do it without warning, the damage could be catastrophic.

An El Cheapo will probably be ok, for a little while at least. I know all to well that when you're on a tight budget, just getting the car back on the road can be the #1 goal, not making it ready for blasts down the 1320!

You better replace that thing asap and have someone look at it. Mine was a more severe problem. It was so wobbly that it came back and wore a hole in the front cover. When I took it off to replace it there were metal shavings from the main bearings. I had to pull the motor and do a lot of work to get it running again. But it put me to where I am now so I am not completely mad.
