World Class T-5(how much HP can it take)?

There's good ones and bad ones out there.I guess it depends on if u are one of the lucky ones and got a T-5 that was built really good.I have personally tore up about 15 T-5s in my 86 Gt over the past 13 years I've had my car.Until my mechanic told me a little trick. He told me use 10w30 motor oil in it instead of dexron 2. I thought he had lost his mind, but I tried it.And believe it or not I haven't tore one out since and that was 3 years ago.Not sure how much hp I have, but my car runs low 11's in the 1/4 if that tells u anything. In my opinion Tremecs aren't worth the extra $.But opinions are like a!@holes everybodys got one.Hope this helps u out

Depends on too many factors, and HP is really not one of them.

Peak torque, gears, traction, clutch, and driving style are the factors that will determine how long it will last. If you run sticky tires and a set or 3.73 (or bigger) than I would say it is not long for this world. But average tires and 3.27 may never break the thing. Anyway, I would not suggest tire frying clutch dumps, or speed shifting with it.
