Hey guys,

whats the word on these heads, I can pick up a set for 750$, assembled with 1.90/1.60, comp valve springs, comp guides and ARP studs. Has 1.6 roller rockers and hardened pushrods.

Would these heads be good for a street warrior which sees the strip a few times a year?

Guy says he went 11.60 on these heads, i think with juice.

I'm pretty sure they are iron, but are these a good head, and problems using them with a 87GT w/speed density? I'm sure the stock intake would really be a bottleneck with these heads, but that could be fixed. Any suggestions for a good intake to match?

Right now the car is stock with 3.89s waiting to go in. Planning on exhaust before next race season. I ran 14.78 all stock with 2.73s first time racing. Hoping to make a high 12s car N/A by the time im done (will be a while student budget).

Will these heads take me into the 12s with no juice?

Thanks,
Mike

What are the flow numbers on the heads?

You will beable to tell a difference. But the stock intake is still going to hurt you. A cobra or gt40 is probably going to work best with them.

What are your plans for the car?

Well as far as stock numbers i found this site
http://www.allfordmustang.com/Detailed/630.shtml

Compared to a AFR165 they don't really stack up. The guy says these are polished..

I can't see them being that good..comparing them against a E7 they are no better on the bottom end, a little better on the top end.

Looks like thumper heads would be a better choice.

My plans for the car

3.89 gears to go in ( already have)
Some longtubes w/ H pipe and free flowing mufflers
Baseline rear street suspension kit.
Thinking about going to MAF for a better cam (more top end).
New intake and heads

Maybe some stickies for the track.

I'd prefer to keep it simple, reliable and off the bottle.

Going by that chart you would be better of saving your money and buying a better set of heads.

Look into these.

A buddy of mine has bought two sets of these and we have had good luck with them. The only probablem has been the valve springs. You can get a set ship to your front door for around 850 bucks.

They're not worth that much that's for sure. Maybe worth it if you got them dirt cheap, but you can almost get a brand new set of much better performing aluminum heads for that price.

+1 You could at least get a set of really nice used aluminum heads for that price.

Might have to get a Dart block but don't want to and if I do, then 363 instead of 331. Thoughts on what I've already bought so far.......
