I'd bet I'd win.

It all starts from the fact that I have too much stuff, and the space is too small. I'll clean the garage every 3 months or so, a process that requires a complete purge of everything inside, so that I can re-organize the disaster before putting the car back in.

I start out using the "touch it once" plan to put stuff back up, so that I'm not picking up everything time and time again, but that never lasts. Eventually, I'm carrying around a wrench or socket that is a duplicate of the one that goes in the "good" drawers. I have some sets in triplicate, (because I like tools) Kobalt is my favorite, because of the finish, then Snap on, then Craftsman. I have a gi honkin compressor, (4) 26" tool boxes in combinations of 3, 4, 5, and 10 drawers, sitting on (3) 5 drawer roll around bases, and there are still too many tools to fit inside, so I hang them (the junkers) on peg board. As space becomes more an more crowded, stuff starts to pile up, and the organization part takes a back seat to "where the hell can I put this?"
The work bench is covered w/ a bazillion bolts, nuts, doo dads, and miscellaneous what the hells. I'll get almost to a decent amount of workable space, and then the where am I gonna put this strikes again.

I'm at the point where it's at it's worst right now,...so who wants to take a stab at having a worse mess than I do?

I have a two car garage. By that i mean, i get to park the stang on one side, and then bicycles/boxes/lawn mower/etc take up the other half almost entirely. I have no "work space", just pull the car in and out really.

Mine is some goofy assed 1.5 garage w/ a support column that prevents two cars from parking inside unless you kick out the windshield and crawl out once they're both in.

But, that still doesn't explain why this happens,...well,.... other than my slobbery. View attachment 183787

Mine's almost that bad. I just need more room. I can work on the car in the garage, but I need to finish out my barn for storage, BUT- If I did the wife would want to garage her car too, and she'd beat the chit out of my Stang with her door. She did it to my last ruck to the point I gave up and left it outside.

I have enough room to work under the hood, i can walk around the car but i can't open the driver's door all the way. I surely couldn't pull a cherry picker in there and pull the engine...maybe with the car backed in and with the picker hanging out the door. I have boxes in front of the car though, so i'm thinking one of my projects this summer is gonna be to move as much of the crap to one side as i can so i at least have a solid 1 car garage.

I don't feel too bad though, my neighbor has so much crap in his garage that he can't use the garage door anymore.

I spit on you,....look,.....if you dare

Now I know you'd be tempted to think that this insanity extends into the living part of the house, but my wife wouldn't stand for it. The fact that I'm still married to her is a testimonial to the fact that the rest of the house is normal. I'm sure my neighbors think I'm a pig since they can see into this disaster...that, and the fact that they are witness to the occasional fits of rage I have when I end up throwing sh it out of here when something doesn't go right.
It's what makes living next to me,.......a real treat.

Why would I show you guys all of this you may ask?...... why, it's that time,....the end of the 120 days of pig dome. It gets cleaned up tomorrow.

I'll never aspire to your level Scott,...Your build pics are cleaner than my non-build pics. Take the above, and add grinding, and bondo dust, copius amounts of torn/worn sandpaper bits and pieces the related backing paper I peeled off of that, and then you'll have my build pics.

I was always careful to omit/crop the shots of the progress while I was building. Depending on whether or not it was at the beginning/middle/or end of the 120 day cycle between cleanings.

This was getting towards the end of the quarter, but.............

They're actually utility shelves, cleated to standards, anchored to the block wall. They're rated to handle the weight they're supporting.

My garage gets just as bad when I'm doing all-day work on the car. I try to keep it clean as I go because I constantly lose parts and tools. Get's me frustrated. I haven't gotten to body work yet, so I have a lot of filth to look forward to!

Pff...looks like a well used garage to me. Looks like a place where cars are built, not just stared at.
