Would a Mark VIII block work in a 4.6 DOHC Cobra or Mach 1?

I have an '04 Mach 1 motor in my '99 Cobra so I dont think I'll be needing a new motor anytime soon but when and if the time comes would I be able to use a long or short block out of a Lincoln Mark VIII in lieu of the motor in there now?. Reason I ask is because the Cobra/Mach 1 motors seem ridiculously high priced for a long block. On the other hand a Mark VIII with low mileage can be had for a song and a dance (I bought a 16k original mile Mark VIII for $5000). Could the Mach 1 heads be put on a Mark VIII short block?. I have heard the Mark VIII teksid blocks are stronger anyway so this would be a doable swap right?.
