would autometer exchange me a gauge because of this?

hey everyone, i have an outside mount autometer fuel pressure guage thats been on my car for a little over a year and for some reason the sun melted the numbers off my gauge so now i cant read the numbers on the gauge...could i call autometer and ask them to exchange me a new one because these gauges shouldnt do that should they??
i was just wondering if i could get away with that or not let me know what you guys think.

i certainly would and tell them how dissapointed i was with there product and request a replacement or approval to send it back for repair. where do you live on mercury? lol

Give it a try. They are very good about that. I have a clock, clearly out of warrenty. It stopped working. Sent them an e-mail. They said send it back and they would take care of it.

Like bill302 said, tell them how dissapointed you were with their product and how much you usally like their products. They will probably send you a new one or repair the one you have. Its better for them to eat the $3 it costs them to make it than lose a happy customer.
