my current combo is ported Twisted Wedge heads, 1.6 roller rockers, gt40 intake, 24#inj and maf, 65 mm TB, 10:1 cp, and basic bolt ons. I have an opportunity to get a ported edelbrock rpm intake that is port matched for my heads. Any ideas or input?? thanks

I would think so. RPM II might do better.

It will make more peak (and possibly average - you didn't say what cam) power but will undoubtably soften the low-mid range. Where do you want to make power?

Well, you didn't give a camshaft choice, but judging from the combination you've given, you would do well with a TFS Street Heat (unless you have a cam with more duration than stock or the base TFS grind). They are runner matched for the combination and if the combination is installed to TFS specs with the TFS camshaft, the whole combination is rated at 350 HP.

Either the Edelbrock Performer or the TFS Street Heat are superior designs to the GT-40 and often trade off top numbers depending on the combination. They certainly have better runner air flow distribution than the stock and GT-40 intakes due to the front runner doglegs in both of the Ford intakes.

Hope that helps.

I always heard the RPM intake didn't drop off much low-end compared to others in it's class. Either way with ported TW heads, I'd be running an RPM 1/2, a Track Heat, or Systemax intake.

Matt it will help up top a little bit. A cam swap and that rpm manifold will work nicely. Buy my old cam from Nick and buy his rpm intake. Basically doing my old combo the RIGHT way. With a 410 gear it should run 11.80's @ 113+. Nicks intake was ported a little by tmoss.

Like I told you when you were over my house last week, if you wanna get the most out of your n/a combo, that cam and intake have to go. If you're gonna put a supercharger on it, keep it as is and put the money towards the blower and accessories. If anything, put a holley manifold on it
