When I was 16 I bought a 1988 Camaro Sport coupe...has cruise, air, 305 TBI FI, 700r4, power everything ect ect. I drove it like that for alittle while. Next thing I knew I was putting a carbed 350 into it. That turned into a 383 within a year. I also ended up with a 3 speed th350 and 3.73 gears. Everything was deleted, the AC, PS ect ect. I was perfectly content driving this and having to mes with it everyday. Then one day it hit me....why the **** am I driving this.

It sucked..it ran everyday no question but lots of days it would be "not quiet right". Constant tweaking of the carb, timing ect ect.

The interior on turdgens sucks as well but it isn't nearly as bad as a realllly old car. The sound system was of course much better as was the handling and the braking but it still sucked. It just gets old...quick. My brother and his friends (18 year olds) are all going threw what I did. They are trying to strip their sports cars and stuff down hoping to make it faster. Luckily my brother is retaining all his luxuries in his z28. Mainly because his GF would kill him lol.

Ok, I've decided against the 68, but now what do you think about trading up for a 03 Mach 1? I've seen a couple that perk my interest, and have found one on ebay just now item number 230083780458 So what do you guys think about that?

Grady's thoughts rang a bell with me (too bad I'm too old to hear the bell ring).

Now in one of these last posts Mr Snake, it seemed like you're just kinda tired of your 95 - is that the case?

If so, you can trade away but you might desire the old Cobra back after a bit. It seems to me that quite a few have ditched 5N95's and foxes (more from the latter) for N.E.'s (Terminators, Mach's, etc) and they end up coming back after not enjoying the newer stang for some reason.

For the old rides, I know there's a romance there but when thinking back, I tend to recall the good stuff. All the times I had to deal with the crudeness when I didnt want to, well I tend to have forgotten about that. A project fastback would be a real scream to put together, but not when it's a DD. As you decided, I'd keep the SN and I'd keep it pushrodded.

Good luck with the decision.

And Wade, she's purty.

I'd probably trade for a Mach. But I wouldn't go oldschool.

Ultimately, it depends on how much disposable income you have, a old car compared to a new one carries the extra cost of preservation, rust proofing/repairs and parts availability is more of an issue.

I'd keep the car you have, 20-30 years from now it'll have the same status as the old car you're looking at...
