sure why not. it is the same cam that thumper sells with his ported e7's. should work well if the heads are ported right. personally though if i were going to have some ported stock heads, i would buy thumpers. they would be ported properly. just my opinion though.
yeah the heads and cam will work good with either a cobra intake or gt40 intake. but then again, you might want to pm tmoss and ask him if one of his ported stockers would do a similar job. for 125 bucks, your buddy might not go wrong.
Built one... AOD car with stock heads and intake with a E cam. Thing idled almost like a stocker. Not very quick, but it was a decent runnig car for what little was done to it.
this same friend had the same combo with a stock upper intake and ran 12.8 in a notch with 3.55s and I consider that pretty quick right ? lol So a GT40 intake would help with that I would think.
