I noticed that the fuel line on my 5.0 runs pretty close to the passenger side exhaust header, so here is my first question. Would it be benificial to wrap the lines in a few layers of tin foil and maybe even fab up a heat shield?

Also, I have some header wrap layin in my garage, would it lower engine compartment heat enough to make it worth doing? Anyone try this? I am bored and lookin for more hp!!

well it isnt gonna get you anymore hp but would keep things cooler in the engine bay if you can keep the heat from filling the engine from the headers. but maybe with a intake spacer and a intake blanket you might gain 1 or 2 hp.

I need it as cool in the engine compartment as possible because the guy who had my stang before me took off the factory air box and just put a cone filter on. I'm pretty sure that is a hp killer.

I think I will put the header wrap on because I have the cheapy non coated headers and they are now chalky white!

ya it is a great idea all the nascar's do it. ya i would ditch that cone filter in the enigine bay all that is doing is sucking in 160-170 degre heat. anderson makes a great N/A fenderwell power pipe. if you have the stock hood you might want to take off that heat blanket that keeps that heat in the bay. but it could turn your hood chalkie after a while up to you. i use to love driveing my car in the cold at 11 or so at night in the winter because it felt so much stronger with my bbk C.A.I that i have. gonna give that to my g/f along with my underdrive pullies since i got a blower now.............
