Hey guys...

I don't typically post threads like this but I've been studying for 2 weeks straight and needless to say, most of my law school buddies aren't as obsessed with their cars as I am. So I need a break from all that for a few and just need to vent...

As soon as I'm done with my finals, I'm ripping out the interior and replacing some of the basics. I'm replacing all of the carpet, soundproofing the floor, doors and trunk, and doing "something" with the trunk interior. I will probably drop the headliner and reupholster that as well.

I have already purchased the sound deadener from SecondSkin Audio (Damplifier Pro) and will probably be purchasing the carpet from 50resto sometime at the end of this week. I have a week between the end of finals and before my summer internship starts, so I have dedicated that entire week to this mini-project. As with everything else I have done with my car, in no way do I think it will be finished in 1 week (I probably won't get the new carpet in time), so I plan on using the beater until I get it 100% finished.

I was wondering how many people would be interested in seeing the process? I planned on taking photos and notes anyway, but I could do a write up on it as well. The reason I ask is because in doing research on Stangnet, I found bits and pieces of info on this type of project, but very little on the whole thing.

Also, I have been thinking about some things to do with my trunk, particularly with the gap that the old spare tire left. I saw a post awhile back where someone put some type of cover over it, but I was hoping for some more suggestions. Any overall suggestions would be welcome too.

What do you all think?

FYI, no sales in the forums. I removed your "PS, here's my stuff for sale" link, per the site ToS. Post in the classifieds if you so choose.

Thanks for bringing that to my attention...I'm very aware. Unfortunately (and sadly), I didn't even notice I wrote that until you pointed it out...I probably looked at/changed my sig. a million times too. I had to scroll up to figure out what you were even talking about.

It was originally supposed to be "Fobra", but since you pointed it out, something better has come to mind.

Don't think it could be. lol OK I take that back, I think it could be, but I don't think I could live with it very long. On another note, there is more motivation to do it the right way. That damplifier pro cost more than the carpet. All said and done, I would hate to have something look like crapola after dropping a few c notes on it.

I'm still interested in some suggestions for the trunk. I will be lining the whole thing with the D-Pro, but after that, I really haven't decided on anything, including carpet. I have two subs w/ one amp that will also be back there. Finally, I have no idea what to do with the spare tire space...

Does anyone have any thoughts/pics that could help? (I'll be searching the forum in the meantime) I'm looking for a clean look rather than the tricked look. I'd still like to have some space left to use the trunk to some extent, albeit much less b/c the SWs will be back there.

I feel your pain. Had Torts II tonight. K II Friday. My car literally looks like a beater; haven't washed it in over a month. Cannot wait this summer and unpaid internships... I might get new tint on Sallie Mae's dime.

Psychology. If I had to do it again, I would have probably gone for a degree in paralegal studies so legal research & writing wouldn't have sucked so bad or perhaps engineering so I would have more eligibility to take the Patent Bar exam. But psychology wasn't such a bad degree either, it opened my mind a little...

Haha, Sallie Mae paid for my front bumper...she's such a nice lady (until you have to pay her back). You sound like I did last year, although I had Torts for only my first semester as a 4 credit class. We did Torts/Criminal first semester and Property/Con Law second...both property and con law were 4 credit classes too. Second year is "better", I didn't wash my car for two weeks, though last night I broke down and cleaned it up a bit.

Speaking of unpaid internships, I have never worked so much for free in my life (even if it was for credit). I just finished one with the SEC in DC though and I hate to say it, but the exp. itself was worth it. It w/o a doubt got me my summer job. (paid! ) I'm graduating a bit early, in Dec., and I can't wait to get my first check, lol it will probably be more than I made in 2 months at any other job I have had.

Good luck with the rest of your exams. It will all be over soon.

Sallie Mae is great until you graduate, then she is just like any other chick: After your new found, hard earner cash. I did the best I could to pay as I went and never took more than I needed. Now I have to pay 210 every month for 10 years... At least I have a job now that offer's 100% tuition reimbursement so I can get my masters... for FREE!

The first real job is an awesome feeling though... within the first 6 months I paid off my mustang (5 year loan in 1 year), got the mongoose kit, and new wheels/tires.... Only down side is I still live with mommy and daddy.... now that my car is paid off, I am looking for my own place!
