Hi everyone,

I'm looking at an 04 GT that was a factory reaquired vehicle. The car is in nice shape and drives nice and all, but has a warranty history about 4 pages long. To sum the history up, the car had trouble with some interior and exterior trim, brakes (warped rotors), gear noise from transmission (5th gear replaced, along with clutch/pressure plate/flywheel/pilot/throwout bearings, and steering noise (steering rack bushings) and some driveability issues (EGR sensor twice). Should i be running away from this car? As a reaquired vehicle, it is being sold with a 12 mo/12k mile warranty from Ford, and is eligible for extended warranty. Whats your input?

why would you waste your money on a lemon? Our cars are POS anyways, so why would you want one w/ a 4 page history of repairs?

If it is a really good price, then maybe. It may have four pages of waranty work, but that doesn't mean everything on there was actually wrong with the car. There may have been one thing wrong with the car and they kept replacing parts until they found it. After a while the customer gets irritated and will bring it in for any little thing hoping to get rid of it under the lemon law.

Ummm....I'd buy it for a really really good price....like maybe $12k.

I'm guessing you'll get nothing but hassles out of that car....so it has to be worth your while.

All those problems are common, on your car they are repaired by the factory not just some random shop like usual so I think you are in good shape

I say buy it.

Might be common problems, but shouldn't have that many of them that quickly.

How many miles are on it?

The car has 48K miles. $14,800 is the price. Black leather, 5 speed, interior upgrade package, 40th anniv.

I vote no.

At that price you should be able to find a very nice clean lower milage mustang with no "Lemmon" history.

I just bought my 03 for $14,800. I just saw another '03 for $14,900 this weekend... both with about 30,000 miles. Wait for a nice one to come up. You won't be dissapointed.

No way too expensive and too many miles. The car is 3 years old now and has had a bad history. Spend 1500 more and get a nicer low mileage 04.

Hell the local ford dealer has a 2003 DSG GT vert with 35,000 miles for $17,000. You can do better.

For that price I'd skip it too. You can easily find an 02 or 03 for that price with no more miles. Yeah, that may be an 04, but with the problems it has and the miles it has, being an 04 doesn't really mean much anymore.

Thanks for all the input guys. You guys seem to find some good deals on cars! I havent been able to find much of anything up here in WI. I think i'm gonna pass on the car. It tempted me more than it should have because of the color, interior and wheels.

Where in wisconsin do you live? I live in wisconsin also. Winter is the best time to buy a mustang. You should have no problem finding a nice one.
