Wow, what hood is gonna clear this intake?? PICS

Well im still waiting on my heads/cam to get this car buttoned up. So i decided to throw the intake manifold on top of the block to see what kind of hood clearance i have. Well the 98 cobra hood i have it not even close.

Do you guys think a 4 inch cowl will make it??

BTW that intake spacer is built in.. it must be used in order to bolt the upper to the lower. ED C wants me to use an additional 1 inch spacer, now i know nothing would clear that as well LOL.

HA!!! that thing compliments the engine well - HUGE!!!

anyways, the 4" cowl would even be close, maybe somebody coule measure clearance for you

yeah thats a little much for a 98 Cobra hood lol...looks like any chance of a sleeper look is gone down the tubes(who cares right?) a 4" may work....you selling the 98 hood??....

Yes the 98 cobra hood is FORSALE... lol

I have no stock hood, so i cant do that joe, that would be pretty hilarious though.

I will do the foxbody tbody conversion soon. Im to cheap to spend money on it now, as the only tb ill get is the polished accufab, which is $$$.

with your fixed pictures i can see the TB now and that thing is really high too- does the fox TB conversion lower it somehow? cuz if it stays that high, you're gonna have a BIG hole in your hood

The fox tb mounts right up next to the intake.. so theres no elbow.

yeah with the fox setup, the TB will be a little HIGHER, cuz it will bolt to the upper and not turn down with the elbow....possible to score some drop mounts??...will they work with our front suspension??...even a 4" is gonna be iffy after seeing that pic with the tape measure...

i really cant use drop mounts, as it will give me header clearance issues, and i dont want the ruff ride.

lol thanks man. Once iget the heads/cam, it will only take a few nights to get it running. Hopefully by this coming weekend, or early next week.

The 4" hood would have to clear.

It's not like you are the only guy with an EFI 351W block in an SN95. I wouldn't think that every person that does the swap would have to use drop mounts.

How tight are the headers in there?

Yea there are quite a few people with 351's in 94/95's but i cant think of any who have this intake. Its fairly new.. Most i have seen use the trickflow R or victor 351 intake, which sit much lower then this upper.

Seems as though the headers will fit nicely. Since each primary comes off, they should be easy to install. I cant really get the idea for exactly where they will be without the heads being on there.
