I have the 180's, aka Windsor Jr's, and find that they are good for the price. Would I upgrade to aluminum in the future? Maybe, but the car has power, I'll give it that. I'm just missing a cam....
Thanks, I read a big article on alum. vs. iron heads. There wasn't a huge power difference. One obvious advantage would be weight, which is a big consideration.
The Windsor Sr's (roush 200's) flow about the same as the GT-40X heads. There are definitly better flowing heads out there like Edelbrock, Trickflow, AFR. It really depends on how much they're gonna cost you.
What is the runner size on the better heads? Is there a test to say X head flows better than Y head?
The whole plan is a decent set of heads, my original block w/ a good crank/rods/30 over pistons. Probably a box style intake and a Novi2000. Not sure about cam, maybe one of those blower cams and roller lifters.
i have a chance to get a pair of these very cheap and my original plan was for a mildly worked gt40ps heads, now would these heads be worth a little extra?
I totally agree, should match springs to cam anyways.
