Once I install the radiator, hoses and a few misc wiring I'm hoping for this HCI beast to fire over. If and when that happens my plan was to let it idle till it gets up to normal operating temp adjusting fuel via gauge and timing has needed to keep it going. Once it warms up I plan on draining all the oil out of it and re-filling with some fresh Mobil 1 and oem filter. I originally planned to run the new oil and filter for about 500 baby miles then drain it to check it and fill with some Royal Purple. Like any one else I am stoked about getting this running after a long summer of down time. I would like to go to the track this Friday. IF I do this then I would not have put but maybe 100 miles on the car before going to the strip and launching off full slicks. Do you guys think there will be no problems with this or would you advise to just wait a week to put some more miles on it and make sure all is well. I'm on leave for the rest of the month so I planned on taking Day trips here n there from PA to NY and what not to rack these break in miles fast. So if it's suggested to wait another week then that won't be a issue. Please let me know what you all think and let me know how you fell about how I plan to go about letting it warm up and draining fluid.

i would buy cheap oil, fire it and let it idle for a good 20 minutes, cut it off and drain it and put more cheap oil in it, drive it for a few days varying speed, then drain and put in whatever you want and go have fun. thats what i would do. after spending all this money on parts i wouldnt hesitate to drain the oil and replace it a few times.

Engine Might have to get a Dart block but don't want to and if I do, then 363 instead of 331. Thoughts on what I've already bought so far.......
