Ok theres a 95 GT i believe that has a few problems and im looking at ideas for cost of repair....

he claims that the O/D button doesnt work....not sure whether that means its alwasy stuck on O/D or if its always stuck on D

also he deleted A/C and Smog Equipment....how much would it cost to get A/C back on the car...what would be needed...and what would it take to get smog equipment back on there? how much could that cost

how much would it cost to replace Braking system with Cobra Brakes...or any 1-2 piston caliper braking system from cheapest to most expensive?

How much would it cost to fix a leak in the Power Steering system?

thank you more ?'s to come

you could be lookin at a pretty penny to acquire that stuff and install it. where is the steering leaking?

i might look for something better off - if you have to pay more, the cost will easily (and then some) be offset when compared to what you could have to spend to get this car the way you want it.
my two cents.

That fix could be as easy as a wire being frayed near the button. I've seen a 2000 GT with a wire that came off.

Unless you are getting this car under 5K I would let it go. If it has tranny problems then be careful unless you know for sure whats up with it. The smog stuff is a PITA to aquire but it is attainable through the classifieds or new from the dealer. I am not sure of the price for the smog stuff but the A/C stuff I deleted I sold for $200 so it will be cheap to get that stuff.
Just buy a car with the stuff already on the car in working condition or you will be buying a big headache, IMO and a light wallet. These cars will break you either way whether it 's repairs, maintenance or most of all "MODS". But I guess that's the fun of it all owning a Stang.

Look through the classifieds and on eBay for average prices on the stuff you are looking for. It all depends on who is selling it.

I second the vote for looking elsewhere. Just too many problems if this is a car your thinking about buying soon.

For what it's worth:

Cobra brakes are $400 for the front kit and $400 for the rear kit. This includes calipers, pads, rotors, and lines. This does not include installation.

The O/D issue needs to be researched or you could spend lots of money at a dealer to fix it.

Smog and A/C equipment requires more time, energy, and research to restore. No offense to anyone else who has deleted these items, but this is sort of a red flag in my book......especially if the car is intended to be a street car. For me, I NEED cool air in the summer and I have to pass emissions.

The steering fluid leak really depends on the location of the leak. You might need a new pump (not expensive), but it will cost labor to put it on if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself.

Lastly, a 95 GT with an automatic might be nice to convert to a drag/street car, but I'd sure think a good bit about the fact that advantages of having a 5-speed.

Good luck.
