i got a new pump and filter to fix the issues my car was having. long story short.

we put in the new pump. my old pump had a seriously dirty filter so it made sense. put in the new pump and filter. primed fine, checked pressure. drove the car really easy to get it up to temp, then i got on it once from first gear to about 60 mph. it was running like it should be for once since it was getting fuel in the upper rpm's.

came home to adjust my idle since it was only idling at 450 rpm. shut the car off, went to start it again. pump struggled once, struggled twice, then shut off completely. it fried in 7 miles.

 wtf, isint this like unheard of? the tank was clean, nothing happened. put my old pump back in after cleaning it and removing the tea bag pos filter and its running good.

just wondering if this is completely unheard of or what? it was 100 dollars from ****s.. i mean shucks. it has some lifetime warranty, but i dont want or need another one of them now. i think ill try returning it for my money, or return the new warranty one for money "unused". freakin rediculous.

i cant imagine someone who didnt have the ability to change it out themself paying a mechanic 200 or whatever they charge, driving 7 miles and getting stranded. then towing, more mechanic fee to remove/install and the loss of a car. :bang: sorry had to vent and see what everyone else thought of it.

sounds like me. I replaced my fuel pump last June because I thought it wasn't working...threw the old one in the hatch and had some problems, so it hasn't been driven maybe 500 miles on the new pump. About a month ago, the new pump quit working, I pulled it, put the old one in and it works. Crazy stuff. Mine was a 255 lph BBK in tank pump and it junked out on me

damn. i knew it was a pos when i bought it, "master" was the brand. i figured ill use it for 10k or less and when i get my shortblock get a better one. wasn't expecting to be back under there the same night.

i had a walboro 190 in there i found out. we cleaned it and its working good now. amazing the differences between a quality part and a worthless pos walmart brand isint it
