I have a 94 GT 5-speed stock, and my cousin has a 95 Monte Carlo Z34. Those are rated at 215 hp @5200 rpm / 220 lbs.-ft torque @ 4400 rpms. My cousin got to drive my car, and he said he could whoop my ass, i was mad, but he said that if i drove like i do, then he'd win, he rode with my a few weeks ago, and i'm a way better driver, i get get it in 3rd, and i'm pretty confident that i can take him, i've driven his car, and its pretty peppy, but no V8. he said he beat a mustang the other night, but it was a V6.

Please help!!!

I hope your 'mods to come' aren't in the order that they're coming. The 3.73's should be at the top of your list.

I'm not sure what exactly it is that you want help with  Go run him and see how it works out. I don't know how you drive or how he drives, but the only V6 I ever lost to with my 95GT in stock trim was a Buick :nice: .

How much harder is it to drive in the rain with 3:73's than stock? Mine does fine if i stay out of the throttle. And how would it do in the snow? it doesnt snow much here, but if it does, i might have to drive it. I doubt i'd be able to go anywhere with 3:73's?

i'm a pretty good driver, but i dont have the take off down yet, i'm confident i can take him, its a POS with like 1 billion miles on it and all, its had 4 transmissions in it, and the head gaskets have blown on it like 4 times...i've heard they're pretty heavy. I doubt he'd race me cause he's an a-hole, and just wants to make me mad.

Next time he's running his mouth, tell him you'll race him anytime and anywhere he wants. This usually shuts people up. Works especially well if other people are around. And if he does call your reply race him. You should beat him pretty easily.

In the mean time...
1.) Get some 3.73 installed. Sell your car and stop driving if you can't beat him with these gears.

2.) Practice you're launch. Practice. Practice. Practice. Till you get it right.
