On the local L.I. news tonight, a part time employee of the Wal-Mart at Roosevelt Field was trampled to death this morning when they unlocked the doors for the "Black Friday" shoppers.WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH OUR SOCIETY that they would stampede and trample this poor guy to death???It makes me sick to think that these "people" (and I use that term VERY loosely) would be so bent on their DAMNED shopping that they would knock the guy down and step on him to get into the store!

I heard that earlier this morning; first on the Glen Beck Show (Pat Gray out of San Antonio was hosting), then on Fox Radio news, then on Hannity (Curtis Sliwa hosting). When I got home; I checked to see if that was your part of the Island. Lo and behold; there was a shooting in a "Toy's 'R' Us" up in Palm Desert, CA - not too far north and west of me.

Merry Christmas, huh? This officially marks the start of my Ebinezer Scrooge mood for the Season.

It's about the birth of Jesus, ya effing morons!!!


Maybe the majority of Americans actually deserve President Barak Obama!

Heard about this on the news, and was saddened by it. The poor guy lost his life due to the irresponsible behavior of others.

Today is commonly known as Black Friday. In the "movement" known as "Simple Living" or "Voluntary Simplicity", today is also known as Buy Nothing Day - people who observe this buy what they need to get through the day before Thanksgiving, and literally buy NOTHING the entire day.
I first heard about this a few years ago, when some people got together and stood outside a mall, urging shoppers to buy nothing. They even had "Buy Nothing" t-shirts. Can you imagine how weird they must have seemed? The reason they got on the news, as one might expect, is that the cops came and told them they couldn't urge shoppers not to shop on Black Friday. Something about being un-American....

is it any wonder that today is black friday? it is also called mob mentality. you have a large mob of people focused on one thing, getting the deal and that is it. and dont forget the pregnant woman that miscarried because she was also trampled in that long island mob.

She didn't miscarry....she was transported to the hospital for observation and the report this morning is that she and her baby are ok. Have to ask tho', what woman who is eight months pregnant would subject herself to a crowd like that?

How about the report of a personal issue between to women in a Toys R Us that escalated into a gun battle between the two men with them??? Both men died.

All the more reason for me to hide in the deepest, darkest corner of my Closet........with a big ol' on the door!!!

The report I heard said it wasn't over a toy, but a personal issue between the two "women". Either way....who the f--- brings a loaded gun toy shopping???

We were shocked that this poor guy who probably just finished Thanksgiving with his family, would get trampled to death by barbarians racing to get a discount TV. Anyone who camps out overnight at a discount store needs to wake up and join the real world. These actions and behaviors are also encouraged by the stores themselves, who proclaim "Limited suppy! Must be one of the first 100 shoppers..." So much for the Christmas Spirit.
