HELP FOR A FELLOW STANG LOVER!!!
This question is for a desperate friend of mine who's got 94 5-speed vert. His car will not start. The rotor BROKE while the car was running. I don't know how the hell that happened but it did, so he replaced it and it ran well for about half a day and then just died on him. The rotor didn't brake this time but the car still won't start. It'll crank up but will not start. Already drained the battery trying to start it. He already replaced the coil and bought the dyno module for it, but still nothing. What could it be? It does have gas and the fuel pump is starting up, so I'm not too mechanically inclined so besides that, I'm stuck. Oh, and plugs and wires are new, FYI.

maybe the timing chain snapped.

Yup, could be a timing chain....thats an odd one you don't see very often, but you never know...

Did you check for spark yet???

If the rotor broke then something else in the dizzy, like the PIP sensor/ stator could also be bad now....swap a good dizzy in and see if it lights off...

I would say the distributer is jacked up...odds are you would know if the timing chain broke as you are cranking it (valve train would be bending and braking)

timing way off or maybe the distributor hold down bolt is not tight enough and it turned?

what true blue said, the timing may have gotten messed up. messed up timing can stop a car from starting. this may seem obvious, but has he tried starting it under full throttle?

try the sensor under the rotor Thats what mine was... I think Its been working since and I did all the stuff you said you did and that fixed it. you will ahve to take the distributer apart to replace it but its only like 18 bucks for the part.

the cap on mine actually had a crack on the inside rim and was causing some little problems- then again mine started so im not sure...

cap and rotor was like $12 at kragen i believe
