WTF No Power

Alright starter solenoid went bad after i installed the long tubes, no biggie right just change it, now that i have changed it have NO POWER, no lights no mirrors obviously no gauges and start so thinking i had a bad solenoid i jump it to check and see if its good, starts up so i install a new one now it doesnt work, put the old one back in and have nothing, is there some resettable link or fusible link i can check to get power back

Just a thought...turn your headlights on and wiggle the negative battery terminal and see if they flicker. I had something similar happen and it was negative terminal corrosion, even though I had not touched it.

When you say it went bad right after longtube installation, what was it doing? Have you had ANY power since installing the headers?

Edit: Just re-read your original post. You didn't leave any wires off the solenoid did you? Sometimes they can fall downwards when you replace it and it's easy to lose sight.

after i was done the solenoid wasnt working, but had power to gauges just wouldnt crank over, so i jumped the solenoid and got it to crank, so i figure i would change it, after i changed it is when i realized i had no power to anything, so i put the old one back in but still had no power are there any spots i could check to see if i burned them up or something

ya there is a wire that goes to the solenoid that pretty much powers everything. Same thing happened to me, that wire had like corroded and I had no power anywhere in the car at all. Check to make sure all your wires are back on the solenoid as they are easy to fall down and not see like mentioned above.

Do you have a alarm or a kill switch? if so you probably switched up the wires on the relay. also the little L wire that connects to the top of the relay some times does not make good contact. take it off and squeeze it a little and then put it back on.

Oh and No the solenoid is always connected to the top of the starter. You were talking about the relay but 4G clarified that. i thought you ment the relay cuz its not that hard to remember which wires go where on the actual starter/solenoid :D

totally my fault im color blind and low light doesnt help any either and i was tired so i hooked the starter cable and positive terminal cable to the wrong sides of the solenoid, dont worry i already kicked myself in the balls

After i rebuilt my engine and put the HCI i did the exact same thing. i was so excited that i hooked it up backwards. I fig out pretty quick. so don't worry about it. It hapens to everyone.
