why does my rear, when changing gears at full throttle the rear dips to the right and then moves to the left slightly?? i have only been able to feel it from the first to second change, not second to third because i really don't feel like going 70+ just to see if it moves!! but why does it move from first to second?? its an 97 auto...

shifts really hasn't changed that i can tell, umm this started when i was driving on old tires and could burn em from a first to second shift, or even from a rolling 30 i could make the rear jump... put new tires on, and now, when it changes gears instead of the rears spinning a little then jumping, now it just jumps. Tomorrow before work i will check all the linkage, and springs, and stuff. but its been doing this kinda for the past about 300 miles.. gets annoying.

Id put my money on the rear sway bar. Mine was broke where it bolts to the lower control arm. Idk how the f*** u break one but the guy who had it b4 my did. My guess was botoming out. Any way i had the same symptoms as ur stang does.
goodluck

More grip from new tires will bring more wheel hop instead of spin. Serious power will twist a car hard at launch but not at your HP level.

I would look at all your bushings. Especially those at each end of the upper and lower control arms. Your car has some years and miles on it now. Unless it has been wrecked or over curbs, it should be bushings. Mine started doing the same thing and it turned out to be aged bushings and a broken upper control arm from an accident. I'm sure you need struts/shocks by now too.
