what is the difference between a x and h pipe? Which increases hp and which torque and what would be better if I wanted to put headers and a cat back basani exhaust on my 02 gt?

h-pipe gives you a beefier, more burbly sound, and preserves more low-end torque. good for a street car

x-pipe give a little more top-end power, and has a more whooshy sound, kinda like a NASCAR car. but, it saps a bit more torque than an h-pipe, and is better suited for a street/strip car.

not sure, but i think bassani's are better with x-pipes?

Xpipe gives more peak hp/tq than an H-pipe. An H-pipe will have a deeper, more poppy tone to it. The X-pipe will have a more metallic, roaring tone to it. I had a tech drive my car before it went into surgery this morning, and I never knew how good my Cobra sounded with an UPR x-pipe and flows. There is a hint of rasp when u get in it at 2400-2800rpm, but besides that, it sounds really p!ssed off and still very deep. I am keeping the setup.

H-pipe goes better with chambered mufflers
X-pipe goes better with straight through mufflers

H-pipe is deeper sounding, with more low end torque
X-pipe will sound more like a NASCAR, and will give you more power up top like the other guys stated.

Personally i like the H-pipe. Every mustang i came across with my o/r h-pipe with turn downs or side exhaust thought it was kool as hell.

X-pipes give you 10-12 more hp/tq than h-pipe but no thanx i don't like the sound it gives out when you open it up . The x-pipe at idle and slowly driving sounds kool but at high rpm it doesn't sound go to me.

Just find 2 stangs that have a h and x pipe.
