H is deeper and more old-school muslce sound.

X is raspier.

mid pipe choice should be based on personal sound preference.

i prefer x-pipes into any kind of muffler.

h-pipes sound to deep for my tastes, i prefer a bit more high strung sound.

I have the pro-chamber and it sounds awesome. I had a big power gain as well with few other mods.

Remember, if you drop the cats, the volume will go up considerably. For most that's just fine, especially if you aren't doing a cam and louder mufflers. But if you do, then the volume can get loud (too loud for me).

Probably the only one on here and mustangexhaust, to go along with everyother forum that runs the Flowmaster D-pipe

I had a h-pipe before...i liked it. But doesnt compare to the d-pipe. The d-pipe still rumbles at idle etc like an h which i love, but when it goes through the rpms, it gets higher pitched like the x pipes. Plus, its only $160 from summit racing. Cant beat that.

But its all taste...some guys love h's, some love x's, i love d's lol, which seems to be a cross breed between the 2. Volume will be about the same with everything else held constant, the main difference will be the tone.

I personally say to put that cash into something else. Where about in michigan are u ? Im in ypsilanti/ann arbor.

The whole D pipe thing doesnt make much sense to me. After all, generally speaking all it is is what alot of companies call x-pipes that arent really true x-pipes.

I'm not sure what there is to not make sense...its not close to any other x-pipe i've seen....

d-pipe

bbk x-pipe(not a true x...flow is directed into a wall....)

dr gas x pipe(true x)

Now i say a x pipe is when it directs flow to the other side and makes the gases cross path...the dr. gas does this...the bbk does this but with a terrible design IMO, but the D-pipe does not do this...just like an h pipe doesnt do it. 95% of the gases will not go into the other side of the exhaust...it will flow right past the cross over in a d-pipe, just like a h pipe. But, due to the design of the actual "cross over" it sounds different than a h pipe.

Hopefully that clears it all up
