I have an 04 GT the only performance modification i have done is a flowmaster 40 series cat-back system. I want the system to be a little louder, and if possible gain a few ponies. This weekend im headed up towards summit racing and am considering buying this
x-pipe. Will it make it noticibly louder? also will it give me any HP gains that i can actually tell? Thanks.

I have the same setup, it sounds pretty good IMO. Are you going with the off road or the catted one? The o/r x-pipe will make your car SCREAM, It will be very very loud! It does free up some HP, it feels like it flows better. I say its worth it, I get tons of complamints on how good my car sounds!

the offroad will increase a bit, though from what i hear long tubes make the most aside from mufflers.

Well, if I had it my way id definitly go with the uncatted one because obviously it will be louder. When you say very very loud can you compare it to something so I have a better idea. My idea of very very loud is the threshold of hearing. Most of all I want it to sound good, i will sacrafice decible level for the overall sound of the exhaust.

A o/r X pipe is pretty loud but, not loud enough to hurt your ear drums lol.
If you get one with cats it will still be loud but, not as loud. Also if you
have emissions testing where you live than get the X pipe with cats because
you will not pass emissions testing without the cats on the pipe.
I enjoy the sound of a X pipe and I think it sounds good with or without cats.
I have the same Flowmaster 40 series catback as you with a Bassani X pipe
with cats and it sounds awesome in my opnion and I love the tone of it.
I got my Bassani X pipe from www.ninosport.com and Nino is a great person
to deal with and his customer service is great. You should go to
www.mustangexhaust.com and hear some sound clips.

You said the only mod you have is a catback but the xpipe you linked to was for Long Tube headers. Do you have Lt's?

UPR O/R Xpipe...

My 02 sounded pretty nice with the Flowmasters, but when I installed the UPR.... .It woke it up big time. I get tons of compliments. My girl was driving it one day, she has an 04GT with Flows by the way, she drove through a parking lot going to another store and some guy literally followed her into the store and asked her what in the hell was in the car, because he has never heard a Mustang that sounded like that...

I went with the SLP X-pipe from Summit, as I wanted a true X. I'm happy with it.
