Ok it was leaking where it meets the manifold. not real bad but is was annoying. the exhaust shop said it was because i put 2.5 inch pipe to a 2 1/4 manifold. so they cut a piece of 2 1/4 inch pipe and put it inside of the 2.5 inch pipe. does this sound retarded. how much is this hurting performance.

your shop is retarded. my 2.5" X pipe bolted right up to the stock manifolds. chances are, your leak is coming from the passenger side manifold due to a damaged gasket (its a $7 part). Check there

+1.
Find a new shop

You know, I put on an off-road h-pipe, and I could have swore I had a leak on the drivers side. I put the stock one back on, and I noticed it still sounded like a leak, but a lot quieter. I think it just a noise the downtube makes. When it's an open bigger pipe, it's louder...which makes sense. Then I put the puny stock one back on and it's quieter, which I probably only noticed the sound because I had the aftermarket one on that made the leak sound.

Its been a while since i messed with stock manihold and leaking mid pipe. SO i can't remenber the exact Parts number. NAPA PN# 600-1819 i think is the PN#
DO the search on "Napa stud", and you'll know what i''m talking about. Basicaly, with Napa replacement studs, it allows you to bolt mid-pipe on much tighter then you can with stock stud, which has bump on middle that will hit befor pipe is sealed tight.

My old mid pipe leaked, and 13bucks and 30 min later, leak was thing of the past
