X pipe noise

I installed my off road x pipe about 3 weeks ago and I noticed there is a loud rattling noise coming from the exhaust maybe by the headers, I was thinking it was a loose nut or a bolt, any ideas about the rattling? It rattles really loud when i downshift form third to second gear. The noise is not constant.

if you have chambered mufflers that will cause the rattle..

The car is an 02 gt and i have off road x pipe with stock mufflers and tailpipes right now, buying the catback exhaust from steeda ina week. Is stock chambered?

yes I think so.. that is most likely the problem..

Let me guess, it sounds like marbles in a coffee can when the rpms drop between 2500 and 2000. Had a bbk o/r on my car and had the same problem. You have two options, sell the midpipe and buy an unchambered pipe like a drgas, or by a catback with non-chambered mufflers like magnaflow. A combination of a chambered midpipe and chambered mufflers causes the sound I described and think the one your talking about.

Yea its more of a rattling but marbles kinda describes it too, Iam gunna go back catback exhaust from steeda. also i nostice a nut from where the header meets the exhaust on the passenger side had come off that would explain a bit too haha.
