X plan in Socal?

A good friend of mine is looking to order an '05 GT very soon. Are there any dealerships in the Socal area that are honoring the X plan?

It might make the difference between a V6 and a GT, so any help would be appreciated.

X plan isn't going to be your friends worry. You can't get anymore '05 GTs or verts. Almost everything '05 (at least GTs and verts) coming out of the factory are already spoken for. That's the real issue.

Dealers are beginning to take orders for '06 models, but the one's I've spoken to say they will only order '06s at MSRP.

Yeah he won't be getting an '05, not now. There are some dealers in So Cal who will order on X-plan though, Beverly Hills Ford is one who will, although I have no idea about '06..

Interesting. So even if they did honor the X plan, the '06 models wouldn't be coming in until fall/winter right?

Yes 05 are gone. I am going to order a 06 GT through x-plan through North County Ford in Vista. Cant quite order the 06 just quite yet but went in to spec out an 05 with a guy just so I have an idea. Your friend will have to order one cause most dealers wont give you x plan on one that is just on the lot (if they ever are).

I've been down this road and it's full of disappointment. If you order on plan, make sure you get a DORA and the TRUTH from your dealer regarding their allotment and how many orders are ahead of yours. I ordered from a dealer in Orange County and was told 12 weeks to delivery. After waiting 10 weeks I got the truth about their allotment and how many orders were ahead of mine. I was a priority=10 on DORA which is good but, unfortunately so was everybody else. What was originally 12 weeks would have ended up being more like 36 weeks!

So, I canceled my order and bought a GT vert at another dealership for MSRP. I've been cruising around with a smile ever since.
