I know i know....500 miles or spec says 450 but is it really needed? My mechanic says no just drive it around town a little. His attitude is since I race it its not going to last forever anyway and that the 500 mile rule is just over kill that the companies tell us to try and prevent problems and be extra careful/
I am about to have my second clutch this summer and 450 miles takes forever because I just dont drive the car much.
What about when you first buy the car? I drove it like a maniac when it only had 25 miles on it and my first clutch lasted just fine until I spun it instead of the tires on a burnout.. Then it was dead.... I had lots of 1/4 mile passes before 500 miles and the car shifted great.
I always say that I am going to just go race and not worry about it but after all the time it takes to get my car to the shop now that I dont have a trailer i cant get myself to do it. If I could do the clutch myself it would be so good.. I need to get someone to show me how to do it.
