Well ,it looks like pop and spatter figured it was do or die today ,the divider is in .now on to the tail panel
The back window panel is in,it simply sets in place you cant mess it up ,make sure to grind the welds at the end so the quarter panel can pull up tight

Just finished the inner structure ,it went together great . My welder thought it was going to screw up again but it pulled out of it ...lucky for it!
Do not weld the area between the rear window panel and the side structure ,you may have to move the panel forward or back .
Tomorrow i will be ready for quarters and maybe the roof ....only my welder knows for sure!??

I’m guessing Cali has a welder supply like supply chain. A New liner and a gun rebuild kit would probably do wonders (Miller fan.)

What's your experience with repro tail panels? The prevailing wisdom I've seen is that they require a lot of fitting.

I have never had a problem with the tail panels ,they usually fit very well .
I usually use my spot welder in that Chanel but i burned it up,i use a die grinder with a 3 inch grinding wheel ,it fits right in the Channel

Got a late start this morning ,had to split wood again .
Got the rain gutters prepped and welded in place ,may get one quarter on if i am lucky

Not to be too needy, but might you be able to post a parts list of what you use? Especially the door frame components since I think you've said elsewhere that you use the '67-'68 frames on the '65-'66 cars since they come un-welded?
I was thinking that another way around it would be to drill the plug weld holes on the seat divider instead? You'd have to weld upside down, though.
I fit the quarters and the roof ,only clamped in place to make sure everything fit together and it did
Slid the roof forward with the quarters still clamped in place and welded at the front to the roof ,inside the scoop openings and down the door jamb fitting to the door as i welded each plug weld
i slid the roof back in place ,clamped it down and welded the front and back window openings . I still have to weld the roof to the rain gutters but that will be another story
I didnt weld the quarter to wheel tubs ,the quarter to trunk drop off and tail panel yet ,i have to fit up the trunk lid and the rear valance all at the same time ,i can move it all in and out to get my perfect gaps .
