03 GT 5 speed

I like this posting. Am I the only one who made big power with a vortech? I also have the anderson methenol injection kit too which added room for a lot more timing.

Vortech SQ 5 1/2 lbs of boost 380 rwhp 379 rwtq
8 1/2 lbs of boost 437 rwhp 421 rwtq - on a 98 degree day

Stock Block. The tuner could pull more power but was afraid it would break. He was right when he warned me, I got to greedy and it lasted 6 hours because the tune was too lean.

The car right now has a fully forged and balanced bottom end being put back together. I am going for the 500 rwhp

C&L intake
80mm sct mafs
Anderson power pipe
1 5/8" long tube headers
BBK shorty off road h-pipe
FRPP side exhaust
3:73 gears

Holy GAWD 380WHP w/ 5.5 psi? That's seems kinda high for a SQ.

This might be a stupid question, but what is the "largest" pully that would produce the least amount of boost (or maybe larger pullies produce more boost). Would it be possible to run like 5psi with a P1Sc, vortech SQ, Novi2000, etc? I'm asking because I'm thinking about a SC but I already have the juice lol. And I know my car can only handle like 400WHP. I keep wishing I should have waited for the SC instead of the juice, because now I want the power there ALL of the time . But if I have n2o AND a SC, I could drop in a VT engine when the stocker gives, and then make OUTRAGOUS power.

Also, can someone explain to me why centrifugal blowers produce boost later in the RPM's compared to a Roots? I don't understand how that happens when both use the crank pully etc to spin the compressor?

Anyway, thanks for any info guys.

Dude, you and I both are in exactly the same postion. I got the juice a while back and love it when the bottle's full, but I hate worrying about bottle pressure and such, and when my car is n/a its just doesn't have any balls compared to it on the juice. I've decided to get a blower this winter, I already have 1000 saved away and I'm waiting on my big tax return. I'm considering a kb or a mph vortech kit...

Another shout out from us Canadian guys

Here's my mods the car was finished in October and i drove it for 3 weeks before the snow set in up here but it was silly fast and i had a safe tune as i had a bit of bad luck when i first installed everything:

VT Engines forged short block
Diamond pistons (9.8 compression)
stock cam
Vortech S-Trim (3.1 Pulley)
SHM a/a intercooler
Procharger 1.5" Race bypass valve
AFM Power pipe
Bassani Side exhaust
Hooker Long Tube Headers
SCT CHip tuned by Matt(Mustang Shop)
60lbs injectors
90mm LMAF (with MAF extender)
Hotchkis upper/lower control arms
Koni red shock front/back
4:10 gears

I see about 12psi of boost on a good air day

my numbers:

450/365

Should see low 11's no problem if i get traction

99 GT
Procharger f1a, 3.85 pulley
8 rib with stock truck crank pulley.
20+ psi
bullitt intake and t-body
stock fuel rails with 55# injectors.
STOCK heads - STOCK cams.
9.5-1 compression built shortblock.
mac exhuast, long tubes, prochamber and flow paths.
twin focus fuel pumps, stock fuel tank, basket and lines.
stock t-45, driveshaft and 4.30's.
17* timming , 100 octane gas.
511rwhp 485 rwtq.

this is my daily driver, engine is old and beat up pretty good, now on its fourth blower and has had oxide on it, NO dyno numbers on the bottle. I may be swapping out this stock setup for a worked SVO head/intake setup with blower cams and a fresh shortblock.

Wait a minute, you made that kind of power with a non-intecooled FRPP blower at only 6psi......and through stock PI heads no doubt?!?

Sounds like I need to get me a set of Crower Cams.

forgot to mention, that was on a mustang dyno.

but 2 months prior to those numbers, the car put down 306/366 on a dynojet w/o the 90mm MAF, cams and custom tune, and it had a REALLY bad vacuum leak, and a dead front O2 sensor.

so i think the true numbers were around 400/400 b/c my buddy w/ an 03 cobra w/ echaust and 2.8 upper pulley was slower than this car. lol

I couldn't believe the power the car made with little boost either. but then again it didn't live that long either. The tuner said it had to do with my exhaust being so free flowing and the methanol injection.

I to came from being nitrous car. I would go with a centrifugal SC over a roots for easier drivability. Roots delevelops boost much faster and peeks faster than a centrifugal. the centifugal keeps building as you rpm builds. I have a street car and traction is a problem. I like the boost coming on later. With having a gear in the rear end, the car revs easy, so developing the boost is not problem. From 4-6200 rpm's the car is a monster. But if your just cruising, it doesn't jerk you all around. I guess it depends on what you want. If you want a stump puller off the line, go with a roots. But if you like that screaming top end charge, go with the centri.

Procharger is more costly intially, but seems to be the best to make power. Vortechs you have to add this and get that which adds up after awhile. It has everything you need right off the bat. the intercooler and the way they do there geas develops more boost quicker than vortechs. But i am happy with my vortech, from a 40 roll it is hard to beat.

My car is just finished, I have a forged, balanced bottem end and blower cams. The builders goal is 525rwhp safely with a custom tune.
