Zipper on 93 convertible

Are you talking about the zipper for the rear window? And by detached, do you mean the rear window is missing? One side of the zipper should be attached to the underside of the top, behind the last bow or rail of the top frame. The other half of the zipper should be attached to the top of the fabric that is glued to the window itself. When zipped, the zipper is what's attaching the glass window to the top and keeping it in place.

ive found out that zipper teeth vary, so make sure you have the right size teethed zipper. it will be obvious when looking at it.
