How much horsepower and pound feet of torque will I lose on a 10# procharged mustang with 75mm tb/p if I went with Bassani Mid-lengths and cat-less xpipe versus BBK's LT's and a cat-less x-pipe. I always here LT's are better, but I would like to know how much better in this application.

Recently I was told LT's help the low mid and high power band, while mid lengths focus more on mid to high powerband. And since I am I will be getting a centri supercharger would it matter about the low, or will I absolutely need the extra low?

Please any and all info on this topic will help, thanks all.

I searched forever on this topic. My car has a vortech s trim and i wanted to go LT's also. My shop said go with bassani mid lengths also, that there is hardly a difference at all. The avg gains with bassani are 15rwhp which is about the same as long tubes, maybe a couple hp less, but way worth it in the end for me when i dont have to deal with clutch/tranny changes. I also went with their o/r X pipe. I cant tell you exactly how much HP i gained because i am having it all done at once with the S/C install. Now only if i could get my fuggin car back from the shop, its been exactly 4 weeks today.:nonono:

With more HP you obviously would be concerned with getting that power to the ground. The LT's would give you around 10-15HP more than the mids. Provided the suspension is up to the task the extra 10 wouldn't be a problem. With the extra power of the SC you will probably be blowing the tires if your main vision is to have a drag car. If money were the issue and you were SCing I'd look at suspension work first before getting mid or long tubes.

Do you still have to get a different midpipe with mid length headders, or would a regular O/R X work.

you have to get a different x pipe. You could have yours cut down to fit, but its not worth it. You can sell that one you have and just buy the new one for about the same price. shorty o/r x pipes are usually cheaper. I sold my catted magnaflow x pipe for $250 and the new one was only $100 more. It probably would have cost me that $100 to cut it down and probably wouldnt have fit as well either.

I gained roughly 60rwhp from lontubes and 2psi more boost - so I would say longtubes were good for roughly half of that, if not a teeny bit more.

The thing I first noticed with LT's is now much more low and mid range there is throughout the throttle - not just at WOT. Seemed like they helped daily driving power and pep lots :)
