I've got an idea, but I'm not allowed to talk about it.

if a cop is harassing you. Then it's simple harrassment. Perhaps a 3rd party person should video the event of the cop tryign to tally up receipts on who spent what. Then confront their supervisor or captain. Do not make a new spot. Just park closer to star bucks to establish the fact your there for coffee.
Or with the attention cops been having lately on beatings in portland confront the newspaper. They'd love to write an article on 30-40 year olds not allowed to go to star bucks on a evening because they dont' purchase enough items per person or based on teh car they drive. Especially when there are no records of any of us doing ANY violation in the parking lot. Not even a noise violation complaint has been seen by me.

This particular Starbucks franchise is in an outer corner of a larger building owned by Fred Meyer (Kroger Corporation). As such, this franchise owner rents or leases the space from Fred Meyer. So, to answer your question, neither Fred Meyer, nor Starbucks welcome our meets in their collective parking lot. This is why we moved way out into the middle of an unused lot a few years ago. It was only a matter of time before customers and owners complained.
Seems like a power trip to me. If everyone is drinking SB, I don't see a vaild reason to make everyone leave. I don't see any laws being broken.![]()

There is no such thing as a Starbucks franchise. They are all corporate owned or a liecensed stores, that still have to abide by all Starbucks policies and standards. If the employees in the store are not Fred Meyer employees then it is a corporate run store.
Good to know. Now I am trying to remember if this one is actually licensed to Fred's....despite the obviously incorrect information in several articles I have read over the last few years. Some of the employees used to come into this particular Fred Meyer store and buy creamer, etc. when they ran out (I used to work for Fred Meyer too, it sucked). I just can't remember if they were in our orientations or not. I suppose it would be much easier to make a uniform rule for the larger parking lot, since Fred Meyer owns the whole thing. Oh well.
I suppose we will just meet at the DQ on Kinnaman road, where we meet in the summer?

What I want to know is how the police can just throw someone out of a privately owned parking lot unless the property management actually voiced a complaint and filed a request to have any people loitering removed. I had a run in with the Hillsboro Police about a year ago with a similar incident. The outcome was different though. I told them they had no say over the matter and I would gladly have my day in court if they felt the need to cite me for anything and that I was not leaving unless management personally came to ask me to leave. I am surprised I wasn't pulled over and given a ticket when I left for whatever they could find against me.no more starbucks!! Yeah you heard it.. We were officially thrown out tonight and asked not to EVER come back by the Beaverton jerk off police.. We are not allowed to be in the wellsfargo or freddys parking lot so I asked if we could go around to the fed-ex and he was a total azz and responded with " you cannot park in any parking lots unless you are conducting business and then when your done you need to leave...
For some reason they were looking at me and talking to me...

There are more places. True, a bad apple ruins the bunch. The same is applicable for police officers too. One dickhead makes the rest look bad.
You want to know how, it's easy they approach you and say YOU MUST LEAVE.
It's that simple, and you can't do a thing about it.

They can't force me to leave private property unless management, the owner, or the leasing party requests that I vacate the premises. At that point, a return to the property would result in criminal trespass. You want to know how, it's easy they approach you and say YOU MUST LEAVE.

Damn tell it like it is steve! So what made you come back on S/N? peace
Remember back when S/N crashed and alot of people lost their accounts, well I thought I lost mine, but come to find out I just forgot the password so I figured I could come back when I learned that my account was still around.
Do we have any lawyers on here? If so, they should be at the next Starbucks meet. Wouldn't that be a fascinating conversation to listen to. The cops are generally correct in assuming that the people they bully know less about the law than they do. Running into someone who konws more could be amusing. You want to know how, it's easy they approach you and say YOU MUST LEAVE.

Good point Dave,I bet the "Orfis-ers" would definitely have a different point of view thenDo we have any lawyers on here? If so, they should be at the next Starbucks meet.
