71-73 C6 cooling line ?

OK, I crawled under the cars and verified that the tranny cooling lines are not fastened to anything other than the tranny and radiator. There is one spring clip holding the two lines to each other in the area of the starter. This holds true for both the 72 Coupe (302/C4) and 73 Mach (351C/FMX), so I'd suspect it's the same for your C6. FWIW, The lines on the Mach are actually resting against the side of the oil pan.

BTW

I think you'll like to see my ram air hook up. I made it out of a 429 Lincoln filter and added 1/4" of height to work with my Edelbrock Performer (which was lower and didn't allow it to seal against the plenum). I'm painting this weekend.

Sounds interesting. Did you have to modify the plenum? If you don't post pics, please email some to me. And yeah, not too many 71-73 guys around . . . but then again, I'm not around that much anymore either mostly due to project funds being tight while I pay for my son's college.

no mod on the plenum. I just couldn't see spending $1,000-$1,500 for a real ram air on a non-concourse car, so I made one. I made the ring for the gasket and eliminated the snorkle. I'll try to get pics up over the weekend.

Thanks! ~I bought the plenum and flappers from Laurel Mountain Mustang and I do have it plumbed to open and close.
~The air filter is 70's Lincoln. I used the ring off the lid to mount the gasket and I added 1/4" of height so it would seal to the plenum.
~Not sure about your centering question, but the 429 air filter centers up to the plenum from the carb. I know the 351 is off center, so I'm guessing that is what you are asking.

Ahhh, that clears it up. Considering the insain prices people want for the off-center air cleaner for the 351C, if I didn't already have the air cleaner, (and now knowing that it's different) I'd seriously consider putting in a 429 if only for the purpose of getting it to properly line up with the plenum.
