Very sweet! I looked into a few BMWs myself before I did the blower and every thing else. They ride very nicely and are built very well. Have fun with it!

I had the Bullitt suspension, and it was crap. You can't even compare a truck to it either. My friend who installed my setup works at BMW now, and even he has the same opinion: it's a nice car, but not as fun.
Doubt it handles better than mine now
Hate to be a killjoy...but I'm sure a basic Stage 2 SRT-4 (single turbo) w/ minor bolts-ons and 17+ pounds boost, wouldn't have too much to worry about when it has a BMW 335i with a "twin turbo 6" in the next lane. But I can't complain/compare BMW's build quality, handling and features though - that's where you're probably at an advantage over most other cars you'll meet on the road. Besides, my comments probably come from the fact that I'm a bit jealous of the money you spent...

True, the BMW might be "better" but I'd expect to see a few more positive responses if the subject was: "sold my bullitt!!!! here's her replacement *cough* LOADED Roush427R *cough*"

well this neon would blow you away too
but you probably didnt get a neon for the same reason i didn't... because it is incredibly UGLY and it is a neon...i wasnt trying to compare the mustang to my 335, since they are obviously on completely different sides of the spectrum, rather to simply state that i got a new car. i appreciate your honest opinions as i do realize this is a mustang board

Well, don't know if you missed my signature or not, I did buy that (Stage 2+) SRT4...and, NO, it wouldn't beat my old KB '02 Mustang.

Don't know that the BMW would be able to *double* its boost to both turbos and add some bolt-ons and still be able to not blow something up - the stock boost is 8.5, but the SRT's is about 15, stock. So I guess I could build the bottom end, go Stage 4 making 28 pounds boost, add better supporting mods and have one of those 550-600whp "neon" SRT-4's, but that's not the point. And no need to get personal and nasty, because I did compliment the BMW in several areas. And no need to look down your nose at a SRT-4 when many Mustang owners, including myself, have noticed that even if it is "entry level" it still has a nicer interior and much better brakes than the pre-'05 Mustangs GT's and even in bone-stock form with 230WHP/260-270ish HP at the flywheel (factory rates HP very low)...it probably doesn't fear stockish or minor bolt-on Mustangs that weigh 500lbs more...
As an owner, for a daily driver, it sure doesn't feel real "crappy" when compared to my (faster) '02 Mustang, but after I upgrade to a new Q400 Steeda or something like a Roush 427R...I'll give you the long term review on the SRT-4.

Your crazy man, you honesty think the overall performance or quality of a mustang or neon is better than a new BMW 3 series. Your off your rocker. You would have to mod either one alot to get it to handle like the BMW stock and you could never get the fit and quality of the BMW.
Even if he did get a Roush, the BMW would still be a much better built and nicer car without question.
I love my car and have loved mustangs since I could first drive, but there are times when you have to understand there are better moustraps out there.
Any Ford aside from maybe the 150K+ GT could only dream of the combination luxury, fit and finish, build quality, overall sports car feel, of a BMW.
There is a reason why BMW cars cost more than Fords.

Again, I never said it wouldn't be better, I said (this being a Stang forum) that more positive replies would be showing up IF the subject would have been about a Roush 427R.
Well, Saleen does go up against BMW and many others when they win that some-sort-of manufacture's build quality award...quite often. Right?...or is that just an "American" quality award?
Exactly. You missed my point, because when I said: "Look at my new V-6 (Honda) Accord" ...I was trying to imply that quality wise, not only can the Mustang and probably most other USA cars not compare to BMW...they probably can't even compare to an Accord.
Yeah, a BMW, Volvo or Audi is a much nicer car with better engineering, quality of materials, workmanship and features...but I'd still prefer a Supercharged Saleen, Roush or Steeda.

You'll be back I promise. I bought an Audi about 9 months ago. It's already up for sale. Sorry but there is just nothing like a Mustang. I miss it terribly. Just waiting for this Audi to sell then all my Audi payments go to Mods on the Mustang
